Bailman loves Ben Nelson

In his letter to the editor, Hunter Baliman gives credit and thanks to Nebraska Senators Nelson and Johanns for putting Nebraskans first. He is appreciative of their willingness to not raise taxes during tough economic times.

I might remind Mr. Baliman that it was Senator Nelson who has time and again put Nebraskans under the tires of himself and the Democratic party during this economic turmoil.

How many in Nebraska are going to lose their jobs when the provisions of the health care law take full effect. Senator Nelson is an Eastern Nebraska Democrat and a Washington yes man to Harry Reid And Nancy Pelosi.

It is precisely unconsidered thoughts such as Bailman's, who in giving credit for little things like supporting a vote for a bill that most likely would not have passed, that allows Senator Nelson the means to cover up his devastating support for the health care law.

I hope the people of Nebraska are not as naive as Hunter Baliman on the intentions of Ben Nelson.

  1. It's actually Baliman...

  2. Nice... Once again... a comment from someone who cannot disagree with the substance of the matter, just the spelling of a name..

With due respect to Mr. Baliman, the point is still precisely correct. Ben Nelson is still a traitor to the interests of the citizens of Nebraska. Thank you Tammy Nelsen for your willingness to remain anonymous. Nice to know you are driving business away from the city in your new position on the housing authority board.

  3. Why did you change your story. The Sun Telepraph paper had his name spelled Bailman in the online version.

  4. I have to be honest. I saw the post on the Sun-Telegraph. I believe I spelled it according to the way they had it in the online version. If this is correct, I would be grateful to someone who can correct both publications.

The letter to the Editor's misspelled name aside, it is precisely his point of view I take exception with. Senator Nelson threw the citizens of Nebraska under the bus when he put the Democratic party first on Healthcare. No do-nothing, go-nowhere vote on an issue that never would have passed should give him cover for that gigantic failure to do right by the people of Nebraska.

That was my point, now what is yours Tammy, or which other friend of Gary Person you might be, perhaps one of the Young's, afraid to use your real name while you attempt to attack someone who disagrees with you?

  5. I am not Tammy or a friend of Gary Person. I am simply a friend of the Balimans. I could care less of your opinion of any of these people. Hunter is a young man who just recently graduated and I commend him for sending his letter. Most kids his age are out partying.

  6. Mr. Baliman took a stance. I took a counter position that illustrated why I believe his position of support for Senator Nelson is flawed. His position is naive and obscures the real, very problematic nature of the Senator's health care vote. Mr. Baliman is, I am sure a wonderful young man, but it is attendant upon him and all of us to understand the larger picture before offering support on one side of an issue or the other. I join you in congratulating him on his recent academic achievement. Learning does not end when you cross the stage and I likewise hope that young Baliman pursues a full study or the senior senator from Nebraska prior to his next election.

  7. Mike, if only you were still in Sidney to see the crap that is still going on. It is worse than ever. You need to post your email or give us all a way to contact you with details of our perfect little wannabe town. Missing the citizen.

  8. I will comment here, but open a separate post. I claim today, as I have always claimed that I am not the Sidney Citizen. I make that claim, just as I did in the past when Julie and Dave Young ran the blog called the Pundit back in the Community Center/Loren Avey days. Back then, everyone said I was that publication's proponent, when in reality, I was pretty much opposed way Dave and Julie went after public figures behind the cloak of anonymity.

I know there are a number of people who feel that many of the changes that Gary Person and his friends and cohorts on city council want to implement are superficial in nature and reflect the form of the presentation of the city to outsiders, rather than the function of an effective government. More on this later. I think it is difficult to try and build the town into an image that is a, "little Boulder on the plains," particularly in the face of stunning failures on Gary's part to bring business into town.
