Heene may be an idiot.. but he isn't the fist person to report a hoax on America

Remember the radio broadcast of George Orwell's, "War of the Worlds." 'Nuff said

Bluetooth... get a dentist

Response to the Demise of Bluetooth in the Sun Telegraph

"Rumours of my death have been greatly exagerated.
-Bluetooth"

Blue tooth technologies were developed to give freedom to keyboard, mouse and headphones.

None of these devices really has a useful distance greater than the 10 meters called for in the specification. Because of the happy joy joy feeling that arose over Bluetooth's updated speed of 3 Mbps, some printer manufactures such as HP included it in their printing technologies to support handheld PCs and mobile phones, but it was so horribly slow that it was never a widely sought after function, especially in the days of Email and PDF.

The likelihood that a fairly ubiquitous technology for mice and headsets would be replaced by the new wifie is unlikely in the short term. Manufacturing and marketing issues will act against widespread adoption. It will take someone like Apple or Dell to incorporate the technologies into their computer platform, much like USB and Bluetooth were done by Apple in the late 90s.

BREAKING NEWS Louisana Justice of the Peace Denies Marriage License to interracial couple.

This is a new story that will continue to develop, but I wanted to put this out there now.

CNN is reporting that Tangipahoa Parish Justice of the Peace, Keith Bardwell is coming under fire for denying a marriage license to Beth Humphrey and Terence McKay. The couple, astounded by the JOP's justification, that the couple interracial off-spring would face problems from racism.

If you are breaking the law, you should have a sense of humor about it

With the anticipated arrival of the revived series "V" the activists have come out in force. The show which is about aliens who land here and begin a quiet subterfuge against humanity, is starkly familiar to the US immigration policy

Response to Sidney Sun Telegraph Editorial position on Health Care

In response to the Editorial "Health Reform Needed:"

It is examples like Alex Colorado's that cause Americans to rise up and rightfully hate the insurance companies. There are other stories about insurance and it isn't just Health that causes concerns.

The entirety of the insurance industry needs to be reformed. Here is my proposal:

Rush to judgement

Controversial radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh is mad as hell, and he is fighting back against allegations of racially charged comments which he says led to his firing from a committee to buy the St. Louis Rams football franchise. What has ensued, is a microcosm of race relations and the willingness to smear people in furtherance of hidden objectives.

Pepsi thinks you need some help in the dating department.

Billy, a somewhat nerdy guy, who has trouble getting a date. It seems that he just stumbles all the time trying to find the right things to say to his potential dream dates. If only he could find his Cyrano De Bergerac to hide in the weeds and feed him the lines and other tidbits of information, he could somehow score the right girl and be the envy of his Dungeons and Dragons club.

Have no fear Bill... Pepsi has the answer to your late night praying over a candle sessions to help you land that prom date you've always wanted.

This ain't a game of Pictionary, man!

In the game of pictionary,  teams attempt to draw the answer to some question on a whiteboard in a specified, limited amount of time. If they get it right, they get a point. If they can't get it right, the other team gets a free guess and a point if they get it right.

There are a lot of people in Congress who are drawing on paper these days as well. They have refilled their hourglass several times already and every time they present their picture to the American people, we still can't figure out what they have drawn. Unfortunately, there isn't another side who can come in and save the day by telling us what Congress is doing and so we all will end up losing in the game that is called Health Care Reform. Price Waterhouse Coopers (one of the Big 4 accounting firms) has leveled some serious charges about the impact of the Max Baucus Bill being voted on today in the Senate.

What do Social Security and the New Health Care debate have in common?

Looking at the tumult of the health care debate, it bears noting that the central dependency for its "success" will be a tried and failed policy of inclusion for all. Where have we done this before? Try Social Security.

Massive accomplishments in under two weeks!

The title of this posting sounds more like an ad in the back of an executive trade journal or perhaps a recruiter that swears your only problem in securing the perfect job is their super resume work-over routine. Of course, these services will cost you and arm and a leg to the chance to get your foot in the door, the opportunity to make something better out of the sawdust of your former career, but make no mistake about it, you are paying only for someone else's vision of who you are, not who you actually are.

Huskers give their monkey a new home

Fueled by three touchdowns in a 3:27 second span of time, and 27 points in the 4th quarter the Nebraska Cornhuskers (AP 21) proved that they could beat a ranked opponent in in a driving rain, on the road.

Nebraska had the dubious distinction of losing 14 straight games on the road against ranked opponents. Seeking to prove themselves after a devastating loss to Virginia Tech two weeks ago, the Huskers needed to beat the Tigers (AP 24) to take control of the Big 12 North division. The winner of this game has gone on to win the north title the last three years.

I thought the party was for me...

Yesterday, I joined some friends of mine at a local establishment. The place had an unusually large number of cars parked outside. Inside, there were people laughing and celebrating the 25th year anniversaries of Fred Neal and Jeff Johnson. These guys have been fixtures of the company for about as long as you can be alive and not be considered an official relic.

They have seen many changes over the years and seen good and not so good people come and go. I don't really know Jeff or Fred very well, though I used to hang out at the G-Room and smoke a stogie and listen to stories with Fred and the Brother's Ern... What I know of Jeff really can be summed up from listening to him tell stories of Jim Pohl at his wake. You could tell that those guys lived hard and played even harder.

Why did I think this was a party for me? It was a year ago yesterday that I was promoted to customer by the same company that celebrated their survival. Ironically funny, but yet, tragic all the same.

Even as I write this, I am searching diligently for a technical management position, pretty much anywhere in the country. Jobs continue to be a hard thing to come by and things being what they are, they don't look to improve significantly until next year. Hopefully, some of you out there who have been good enough to follow this will know someone who might need computer equipment installed, or need someone to improve how efficiently they get their work scheduled or executed.

Until then, I will keep plugging away at the resume spitting out machine and doing my best to keep you informed about things you may have interest in. Take er easy!

Excuse me Mr. President, Your Freudian Slip is Showing!

Sigmund Freud's theory of psychoanalysis states that how we behave is driven largely by our ID, a kind of blueprint we inherit. It is the home of our most base instincts and drives us, unconsciously, to gratify the self. Freud also explains how our Ego is shaped by our surroundings and leads to what he called common sense or reason. The Super-Ego is kind of our guilt mom and acts to restrain our behaviors by giving us remorse for socially unacceptable behaviors. Freud's work was largely centered around understanding the subconscious ID and why it affected the Ego, and in some cases, why the Super-Ego failed to be the traffic cop to keep it all together.

What does this have to do with today's writing? When looking at the actions, comments and activities of the Obama administration, one can see some interesting, if unscientific parallels to Freud's signature work.
