Excitement today....

Today I will be able to watch the all-time football Ironman as the Vikings take on the Chicago Bears.
Brett Favre is a tremendously gifted kid, albeit a 40 year old kid whose love for the game has never eclipsed by his talent.

Though his final years in Green Bay were marred by lots of interceptions, it was the fault of the front office, not the QB. The Jets took up the cause and hired Favre to make a few bucks, but they needed additional help before settling on a QB. as a result, the Jets were better than the previous year, but not anything to write home about.

The Vikings have done their homework.  Currently 9-1, they are enjoying a significant resurgence in fan popularity and team strength. Unlike the Jets and Packers, the Vikings took the time to build their offense around Adrian Peterson. Key to that alignment was rebuilding the offensive line and getting the receivers used to assistive roles, rather than limelight and glory. Brett Favre this year into the mix of lineman who know how to block, combined with Petersons dazzling ability to get open and gone has allowed Favre to do what he does best: Be the kid who can change the outcome with a flick of his wrist.

Add to the mix multi-threat Percy Harvin, who can run punts and kickoffs back for touchdowns as well as being an threatening receiver and the Vikings may complete an historic run deep into the postseason. The Vikings have been a handful of times only to grasp victory like hands holding beach sand.

The game should be exciting for the league's only quarterback to beat every team in the NFL. For me, it will be an opportunity to seee first hand how a great and humble person like Favre does what he does best and loves the very essense of the game he has played for more than 30 years. Wouldn't it be nice to give the Vikings the sentimental favorite to make it to the Superbowl and have Favre become the League MVP and Superbowl MVP in his 40's.... Elway was close, but got out on top in his late thirties.

Favre just keeps getting better with age, just like Wisco Cheese....
